Prince of Wales
Housed in a historic Victorian manor, Prince of Wales is proud to display a variety of beautiful, original Victorian artwork, as well as original paintings from renowned Canadian artist Daniel J. Izzard. Infused with both exquisite artistry and history, our original Victorian portraits can be viewed primarily in our lobby, while more contemporary originals adorn the walls of Noble Restaurant and Secret Garden Spa.
Throughout the halls of the Prince of Wales hotel, you will find recreated art from 1997 as well as the Paris Street Art Collection.
Linger in our lobby after check-in to view Life in the Backwoods by John Ritchie. Created in 1861, this original painting features a rustic family at an improvised woodland camp. The family eats simple food around a campfire, seeming to depict the harsh reality for many families living in the 1850s and 60s, who often had to live off the land due to falling grain prices and depression in the agricultural industry. The dynamic interplay of light and shadow in this piece is a testament to Ritchie’s artistic prowess.

Pillar and Post
Our five-star country inn, Pillar and Post, is a favourite among guests for its styling and top-tier amenities, including 100 Fountain Spa, Cannery Restaurant, Monet-Inspired Gardens, and more. This nineteenth-century building is home to a number of elegant artworks, including exceptional landscapes and iconic paintings like The Broad Axe.
One of our favourite paintings, Early Harvest by Chantal Poulin, hangs in a place of honour above the fireplace in Cannery Restaurant. This original artwork depicts the beautiful, lush vineyards of the Niagara escarpment in a stunning impressionist style. Poulin was a resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake and lived in a 19th century Georgian manor along the Niagara Parkway. The unique and picturesque landscape of this area inspired many of her paintings at the time.

Queen’s Landing
Step into luxury at Queen’s Landing, our elegant Georgian manor perched on the edge of the Niagara River. Enjoy lovely harbourfront views, romantic guestrooms, and a truly outstanding fine art collection created by some of the finest artists in the world. One particular piece worth noting is the Walasse Ting Piece. Throughout the hotel property, guests will be able to find numerous pieces of Walasse Ting.
Located in our conference wing, The Arrangement for Spring by Canadian artist David Arathoon is an original oil painting that showcases a vibrant bouquet of flowers in a simple blue vase. As an ode to spring, the painting serves as a beautiful tribute to the bright, vivid colours of the season, with a simple background that allows the florals to take centre stage. Three more of Arathoon’s paintings adorn our conference centre, each one depicting the vibrant, natural beauty of the Ontario landscape.
