🌷 Nigella

Commonly called Love-in-a-Mist, these delicate blue flowers that reach about 20” in height can be sown very early in the spring for an early showing. The flowers as well as the seed pods can be used in cut flower arrangements. The seeds can also be used to flavour cakes, breads and curries.

🌷 Calendula

Commonly called Pot Marigold, they are daisy-like flowers that come in oranges, yellows and blush. They reach about 12” in height can be sown very early in the spring for an early showing. The flowers can be used in cut flower arrangements. The petals can be eaten fresh in salads or used dried in salves and bath products for their healing benefits.

🌷 Bachelors Button

Bachelors buttons or cornflower as they are also known are an intensely blue flower that grows 24” tall. They prefer to be direct seeded early in spring. These flowers are edible and used salads as well as being a popular “button hole” flower for men in the Victorian times.

🌷 Amaranthus

Commonly called Amaranth, their velvety long flowers come in oranges, reds and burgundies. They reach about 6’ in height and can be sown very early in the spring. The flowers can be used in cut flower arrangements however the leaves are eaten fresh in salads or stemmed and the seed heads are used worldwide as a type of grain which has many health benefits.
