Springtime in Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of our favourite times of the year! Flowers are blooming and the trees are so vibrantly filled in and beautiful. Our little town experiences an influx of people visiting from all over Canada (and even the United States!) in the spring and summer months and we thought we’d share some exciting Niagara-on-the-Lake activities that will get you outdoors and enjoying the beautiful weather!
Here are some must-see’s when visiting the beautiful region of Niagara-on-the-Lake during the spring season.
Winery Bike Tour
If you love being outdoors and keeping active, you’ll love going on a winery bike tour. Each bike tour in Niagara-on-the-Lake is led by a member of the tour’s staff and takes participants to different wineries in the region. The wineries you visit is dependant on the winery tour company you choose. Some of our favourite winery bike tour companies are Grape Escape Wine Tours and Niagara Wine Tours International, although there are plenty to choose from! Depending on the company, you may also have the option to rent bikes and go on your own self-guided tour.
Spot the Cherry Blossoms in Niagara
A Niagara-on-the-Lake Springtime Favourite
There are few things more beautiful than a robust Cherry Blossom tree in bloom. Travel around Niagara-on-the-Lake to see the spectacular white, pink and lilac covered branches that adorn our town to indulge in nature at its best. This unofficial tour is one of the most well-loved activities of both locals and tourists, and it’s the perfect way to spend a spring day, soaking up the sunshine.
Peak bloom season strikes in late April and can last anywhere from six to 10 days; however, the beauty of the blooms typically extends throughout May, dependent on the weather.
Food, Wine and Beer Tours
Spend a day filled with VQA wines, farm-to-table fresh foods and locally-brewed beers. There are so many different delicious destinations you can discover while exploring Niagara. From quaint local breweries, to Niagara’s famous wineries and food tours, experience a culinary tour like no other in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
